GWIM is a knowledge-based organization that empowers women from local communities in Uganda to establish businesses based on the use of creativity and innovation. This is done through partnering with local community leaders, who recommend, identify and organize women many of whom are already entrepreneurs who might benefit from the knowledge on enhancing their creative minds. This is either to help them grow their businesses or establish businesses based on creativity and innovation. In addition to individual mentoring, GSWIM trains women to develop their business skills with the emphasis of empowering them transform their business ideas into tangible products for commercial value. GSWIM also collaborates with other institutions for economic empowerment and transformation of women for self-sustainability.

The Success Story
Our Success
Through thick and thin, now BUTHAC group of women has been able to celebrate their achievements on 19th December 2023. From their business profits and savings, they have been able to buy a mattress for each member and also increased their product production as they can now supply a big market. They have not only stopped at that but have turned out to be an inspiration to many communities around them. With this, they were honored by the local authorities to be teaching other communities what they have learned from GSWIM so that this knowledge of intellectual Property for Business Development is spread in other villages to create jobs for people who are also in rural areas improving on their households not only surviving on farming. It was indeed an achievement to celebrate because this group has set a good pace for others regardless of being in rural. They were able to launch their products and business officially to the community and the local leaders were so amazed by what these people have turned out to become in Bunyama Village. They made us Proud as an organization. With gratitude, we want to pass on our appreciation to Ms. Alexandra Bhattacharya from WIPO for the support rendered to this group to date, Ms. Phiona Walakira, Dr. DenisMubiru and Ms. Nantume Lilian . You have made this group what it is today. The group passed on their sincere appreciation to you all for always supporting them.
